Thursday afternoon, I set off for the Road and Trails without a motorcycle. I used the newly installed chock to carry my stuck-in-one-gear mountain bike
instead. It ended up sitting in the van the whole weekend. Despite not having anything to ride or drive, I was able to go on all the off-road rides as a
passenger in a UTV or Side by Side. The trails were quite rocky except for the Cinder Hills OHV Area. That was unlike anything I had ever ridden in. It
whooped out like bottomless sand but the soil, if you can call it that, was like the last bit of a bonfire crushed into little chips. There were many areas
that were so deep that if you didn't have paddle tires or a ton of momentum, you'd be sucked down like quicksand. My KLX wouldn't have made it 500 feet from the road.

This is the first time that I attended a CMA camping event, even though if we're going to be literal about it, driving each night to a nearby comfortable room isn't exactly camping. The weather was beautiful the whole time, there were no fires close by, and I had great Fellowship with the other CMAers and guests. Richard Morales brought his portable keyboard and lyric sheets, so our morning service included praising God in song, something that always gladdens my heart.
On the drive back, I gave much thought and prayer to the "dirt bike in my van" puzzle. By the time I got home, I had a general solution in mind but there was
research to be done and much to pray about.
